Dragon Boat Festival in Yogyakarta

Tourism Office of the Special Region of Yogyakarta (DIY) in cooperation with the Cultural and Tourism Department in Bantul district and Yogyakarta Tionghoa Dragon Boat Festival will be held at Weir Tegal, Canden, Jetis Bantul, June 13, 2010.
"Dragon Boat Festival celebration was held to welcome the Peh Cun, and activities that will last a day, starting at 8:00 pm until around 16:00 pm," said Tourism Office Province of DIY PR, Nurhidayat, in Yogyakarta, Thursday (06/10/2010).

According Nurhidayat, Dragon Boat Festival 2010 plan will be followed by the 20 team sports

DIY oars, and enlivened with exhibition rowing boat from outside Yogyakarta, slalom boat, and the art of lion dance in the dragon boat.

"Dragon Boat Festival is a series of activities beginning in 2010 the peak Pehcun celebration will be held at Parangtritis, Bantul District on June 16, 2010," said Nurhidayat.

He said the celebration by holding a dragon boat festival is one Tionghoa culture in Indonesia which is still preserved as cultural assets and tourism.

Location 2010 Dragon Boat Festival on Tour Tirta, Weir Tegal, according to him, because the consideration for this place is a tourist attraction of superior water Bantul regency.

The dam is located in a tourist village Kebonagung, Kecamata Jetis which now has a tourist lodge, so that tourists can stay in the village. "The festival is expected to turn Kebonagung Tourist Village, as well as introducing the village a tourist destination," said Nurhidayat.
